Anti Sexual Harassment Cell

The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, was officially enacted on December 9, 2013, with the aim of ensuring a safe and secure working environment for women. Sexual harassment infringes upon women’s fundamental rights to equality, as outlined in Articles 14 and 15 of the Indian Constitution. It also violates their right to life and dignity, protected under Article 21, as well as their right to pursue any profession or business in a safe, harassment-free environment.

Additionally, the University Grants Commission (UGC) issued the “University Grants Commission (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Education Institutions) Regulations, 2015,” which was published in the Gazette of India (available on the UGC website: www.ugc.gov.in).

In line with this, our institution has established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to address gender-based violence. The ICC is also tasked with organizing awareness and sensitization programs, operating under the institution’s administrative framework.
