ABOUT LIBRARY
Raiganj Surendranath Mahavidyalaya’s Central Library was established in 1986, coinciding with the foundation date of the college. Currently, it comprises two spacious halls with seating capacity for approximately 100 individuals. The library remains open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on college working days. It houses 15,167 textbooks, 10 journals and periodicals, 6 newspapers, 673 ebooks, and 450 reference books, according to the latest audit report. Additionally, the library features 12 computer systems for student use and 2 for office purposes.
Up to this point, there is no specialized computer software available for managing library records. The library is staffed by two individuals responsible for the day-to-day lending operations, along with one permanent peon who assists users as needed. Attendance registers are kept for students, teachers, and outside visitors. The library has implemented an open access system for its users. The College had used SOUL software as Library Management System so long. Recently, College has installed KOHA software as its Integrated Library System.
