DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

The Chemistry Honours course was started at Raiganj Surendranath Mahavidyalaya in the year of 2010 though the General course was started in 2000. First batch was passed out in 2013 followed by 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. The no. of first class marks in those years were 9, 7, 0, 1, 2, 0, 0. There are five faculty members in Chemistry Department including two AP (Assistant Professor) and three SACT-II (State Aided College Teacher-II) (see Faculty Profile). Dr. Kamala Rani Bhattacharyya (Physical Special) is the Head of this Department since the beginning. Most of the passed out students of 2013 batch had already clear various competitive exams like NET, SET, GATE. A few of them doing their research work for Ph.D. degree from North Bengal University and some students got the job in Schools through WBSSC, as Chemist in Chembiotech and Cipla Pharmaceutical Company.
