The Economics Department of Raiganj Surendranath Mahavidyalaya focuses on innovative studies with a high societal and organizational impact based on the most recent methodological developments. The Department of Economics was established in the same year (1986) of the establishment of Raiganj Surendranath Mahavidyalaya. Since its inception, the department has been offering undergraduate courses (Honours) and (General) in Economics. The department is endowed with one Associate Professor, one Assistant Professor and one State aided College Teacher (SACT) who take all the efforts to effectively and efficiently transform the students into active learners, thinkers and scholars of economics. Since last academic year, the department has been offering Major, Minor and Multi-Disciplinary courses in Economics. The Department of Economics is committed towards creating, assimilating and disseminating knowledge through teaching, research and extension services and developing human resources in the field of Economics. Our Principal  belongs to our Department which always gives us an extra mileage to work with him.
